Luna Corduroy Dungarees
Luna Corduroy Dungarees
Planet friendly ethically hand-made corduroy dungarees! Based on a vintage dungarees fit, with a more nipped in waist and flattering hips to give them a more modern (but still comfy!) fit. Made with a soft, velvety jumbo cord fabric, recycled from factory waste. Each pair features side pockets, back pockets, belt loops and a front pocket, with adjustable straps and buckle fastenings with buttons down the sides. π€ The sizes are a general guide, smaller sizes 4/6 will fit a size S just a little more oversized.
S - designed to fit UK size 8, 10 - waist 30β, rise 15β, hips 42β, thigh 23β, inside leg 29β (inches)

XL - designed to fit UK size 14, 16 - waist 36β, rise 15β, hips 50β, thight 28β, inside leg 29β (inches)
Please check your measurements and consider how youβd like them to fit when selecting your size, they are high-waisted with wider hips and a straight leg. Please remember that dungarees arenβt meant to be your exact waist size like you would wear in trousers, this is to allow room to sit down and move in them, for example if youβre a 28β waist, the size S with a 30β waist would be your size. If youβre between sizes Iβd recommend sizing up as the waist is fitted and buttons may come open when you move around in them. You can also size up for an oversized fit!
The fabrics used are recycled factory waste, this means they were end of the line fabrics. These are bought by small local companies to re-use - therefore saving them from going to landfill! These are then handpicked via video chat by me! This also means each pattern is limited edition and canβt be re-stocked.
I wanted to create pieces which are kind to the planet, but also to the people who made them. I worked with an NGO in Jaipur, in northern India which employs people from disadvantaged areas and trains them as tailors to give them proper fair wages and access to education and healthcare. A portion of the sales goes back to the NGO which runs a school for children and women from the same area. I was lucky enough to travel to India in 2018 and meet the wonderful people who run this project and the people who work for them and Iβm so excited to be working with them again.
Because of lockdown restrictions in India each person employed by the project is working from their own home. In purchasing this item you are empowering people from disadvantaged areas to have financial independence and access to education, especially during such a difficult time in India.
